Women's Health - September 2007

My Mom has a septate uterus, she delivered my younger brother [in 1990] by midwife, at home. In the middle of labor her contractions completely ceased for approx. 1 hr., the midwives were able to begin her contractions again and labor continued successfully. Once my brother was born her uterus would not contract back. They gave her a shot of pictosin and four midwives put their knees and elbows into her uterus to contract it [which did, thankfully]. Does anyone know why this would happen, or if it is related to her septate uterus?

Iv been having pretty bad pain (can be somewhat controled with lots of motrin), losts of bleeding between periods(3 cycles in 6 weeks), nausea everyday, blowel problems, fatigue (really bad) I went to the doc and she wants to do the laparoscapy since my mom, both aunts, and grandmother and geat grandmother all have it they think that what it is. I hate surgery but should I just suck it up and let them do it? Im only 27 and have no children and really want one. would this ruin my chances?

Hi, I am 56 and not real affected by menopause, periods over years ago, but i do get real not, not a flash and real cold and I know I need to take a look at my hormones and I have no money to go to a dr. I also know there are many over the counter ways to deal with it,but one can spend a forturne figuring it out and I don't want to take syntetics hormones. Any ideas, books to read ???? thanks

I've had a missed abortion. The fetus stopped growing at 6w3d. I'm now "11w5d" and nothing has happened. No spotting & very little cramping. My d&c is scheduled for Monday. I've been feeling faint and nauseous this am. I've read that's a sign of miscarriage. Should I be concerned with an infection?

Ok, i hadnt kept track of my cycle this month as i have had a lot going on, now the other day i had a lot of discharge etc similar to when i am ovulating, however i wasnt due to ovulate for about 5 days or so, now i had unprottected sex 2 days before, the day of and the day after this discharge, now im not due for my period for just under 2 weeks and i yesterday i had spotting. Ive spotted before but usual only a couple of days before my period, but not like this. I've been really emotional aswell and have been getting heartburn, is it possible that my cycle could be out by a few days this cycle and is it possible that i couldbe pregnant?

I had protected sex basicly the day i got off my period, a week later i wiped and had a slight lighht brownish color to my discharge. when i checked myself with toilet paper to see if i was bleeding inside, the very tip of the toilet paper was red. this bleeding went on for 1 day ( after i had sex) and then two days later ( a day after sex) does this sound like it could have been just from having sex? or does this sound like implantation bleeding? this happed like 5 days ago and now im peeing more frequently i think and my lower back is sore kind of.

according to this site 15% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage. This pdf report from the CDC identifies that part of it might come from undetected diseases, because, in women, the diseases could be unidentified. You really need to begin a regular check up that includes checks for the deep diseases... don't take a chance...

I keep gettin these pains in me breasts they are very sore its like a shooting pain, the pain is mostly to the left one and jus at me clevege. Sometimes the pain goes right through the whole thing. When the pain is at the worst it feels like it is coming from me back into me breast and I loose my breath 4 a short while and panic. Its startin to happen to my right breast aswell.Any idea what it could be as its it very sore and im gettin worried!!

hey,

i am 18 year old female who has quite serve period pain and systoms. But i dont know how to quite tell the doctor as i havent told my mum yet and dont intend to. how will i pay for the apointment with the doctor, how do i start a conversation about having server period pain with a doctor. I'm also scared that the doctor will want to do tests like pelvic exam, i have been that it will hurt as i have server period pain and my mum has had orvian cancer on both overies. I need help. A.S.A.P as it dont want to have to worry about the pain anymore. if there is a female doctor anyone can reccommend that is on the gold cost in australia this would be most appreciated as i have male doctor i find isnt very helpful.

Is there anybody out there who has ovarian cancer or knows someone who's had it? I am really worried that I may have it and am waiting for an ultrasound. I've done lots of reading about it, but it's mostly textbook type stuff. Iam wondering if anybody can tell me their own story about how they were diagnosed etc. I have been having a lot of severe pelvic pain along with bleeding and I know that I have what may be cysts in my ovaries, but I'm scared that they might be cancerous. Please somebody, if you can share with me I would be most grateful, thank you!!

I'm 26 and don't have any insurance. My entire life I've always had a yellow/green discharge (since i was around 10 probably) and dealt with it until beginning of this year when I realized something wasn't right. Having it from childhood it was "normal" to me until I got tired of dealing with it ruining my underwear! So I went to the clinic to get help. The 3 stupid gynos they have there (all women) have all told me different things and given me pretty much the same medications over and over again. 1) The first said it was Trichomoniasis and gave me Metronidazole (2 times a day 7 days) as well as Diflucan (1 pill) in case there was any yeast at all. Took them both and still had a thick white discharge and pastey odor, just wasn't yellow anymore. 2) Second visit they said maybe it wasn't enough, so gave me Metronidazole for another 7 days. 3) Third visit, gave it to me yet again (Metronidazole) only this time 4 pills to take at one time. 4) Fourth visit, the lady said I had a very very
