Iv been having pretty bad pain (can be somewhat controled with lots of motrin), losts of bleeding between periods(3 cycles in 6 weeks), nausea everyday, blowel problems, fatigue (really bad) I went to the doc and she wants to do the laparoscapy since my mom, both aunts, and grandmother and geat grandmother all have it they think that what it is. I hate surgery but should I just suck it up and let them do it? Im only 27 and have no children and really want one. would this ruin my chances?

It's natural to be uncomfortable with the idea of having surgery so I can understand where you are coming from because I've been thru some of this.

As for the chances to have a child, having a laparoscopy to confirm a diagnosis of endo and then remove as much of what is seen can actually improve the chances to have a child.

My next door neighbor had a laparoscopy done about 6 years ago for a different problem and when they checked the status of her endometriosis and cleaned out what they found she was able to get pregnant within 3 months of that laparoscopy. The little girl is about 6 years old now.

I would recommend having the surgery because if they do find endo you will have peace of mind in knowing that there really was something wrong.

But even before doing that sit down and have a lengthy discussion with your doctor about any questions and concerns you may have about the surgery. If you have other questions for me in the mean time please feel free to e-mail or IM me off site any time.
