Arab countries and some other countries presently doing one custom as women circumcision( labia and clitoris remove ). Like this do what are the merits and demerits. It done after how will affect women whole life, and she will face any other problem. ?

This is mutilation that will negatively impact a woman's life if this is done to her. The fact that it is a custom is not a good enough reason to start chopping body parts off. She will have a much greater risk of infections, no sexual pleasure but pain, difficulty in childbirth, etc. The role of the labia especially is to create a barrier that can protect the vagina from infections, and many women achieve orgasm through clitoral stimulation. It will not only affect her health drastically but her sexual enjoyment as well. It's barbaric and no little girl should ever have to go through something like that. Women were born with labia and a clitoris for a purpose, and no one has the right to mutilate their bodies!

The removal of the clitoris is very painful if not performed with anesthesia. It is done to prevent the girls and women from having normal sexual feelings in that area. Many of the involuntary surgeries are done without anesthesia and are very painful and traumatic because they are usually done on a child. Many infections occur. There is a theory that because some men have many wives and cannot be with them all at one time...they are trying to prevent the women from wanting more sexual activity from her husband and to prevent her from seeking it from other men. Women who have this surgery, may never want sexual activity although they may do as their husband wishes. Others, may want more attention because they can never be fulfilled. They are denied the right to feel normal sexual needs and comforts for the rest of their lives. How this effect the marriage cannot be measured because there is so much secrecy involved in this area of women hood. Some women are resisting this practice, but others feel forced by their family to not fight the traditions. Some men are so fearful that their wives will cause them shame if they don't do this procedure. Also he fears that a women who does not have the procedure will have sex with another male and therefore cause him shame in this way. Fear in men is a big part of this practice.
It would be the same as numbing the penis of a male for the rest of his life so that he could not have an erection or feel the natural pleasures of a sexual encounter. Because the male could not reach that pleasure does not mean he will not keep seeking it...just as it does not mean that a woman will not keep seeking it. There is always a feeling in the heart and mind that something is missing from their lives...and the heart and mind are part of the sexual experience. In my opinion, it is a practice that does not work as intendend and is a waste of time and happiness that a couple could enjoy as the body was made to do. NV

Female circumcision is a form of genital mutalation. It is performed in many Arab and some African countries as a way to keep a woman from having sex before marriage.
It can cause severe pain, infections, and even death, because most of the time the "procedure" is performed under no-so-sterile conditions. Also from what I understand, the "procedure" is typically NOT performed by a doctor; it is performed by a family member, medicine man, etc.
Some women are able to get reconstructive surgery to repair the damage that is done to "keep them pure".

This is NOT the same thing as a male circumcision in which a little extra skin is removed. Removing a woman's clitoris is like cutting off the man's penis. In fact, in the developmental stage of a fetus the penis and the clitoris are the same. It just becomes larger in the male and recedes in the female.

It is not woman circumcision it is mutilation, it is a terrible thing to do and thankfully in the UK it is illegal.
Why would anybody want to rob a woman of the pleasures of having sex is beyond me, hopefully in time all religions and races will come to see that is totally wrong to carry this on a girl. Just to make one thing clear there ar not any merit in carrying it out, the people who practise this barbaric act would not cut off a mans testicles and penis why carry out this horrible act to a girl

I believe this was done in order to prevent women from enjoying sex so they'd have no reason to do it unless it was for children. It is painful and unfair and did you know that sometimes it is done to girls without anaesthetic? I consider it to be maiming these girls and women, for no good reason. It is a custom stemming from the fragile but often terrifyingly huge male ego. How grim, how insulting. Why shouldn't women be able to enjoy sex? Who are these people to decide that the victims of this horrible procedure should endure pain whenever their husband decides he 'wants some'? I'd imagine it'd make childbirth that much worse as well. No one deserves such mutilation. It should be illegal.

Circumcisions for women are done so the woman doesnt enjoy sex. everyone responds to different things mentally different I would think a woman in america that has been circumsised would have a low feeling of self worth. simpally because her ability to enjoy sex no longer exsist. A healthy sex life is good for you mentally as well as physically.

Oh my go do not even go there it is disgusting and is done for the pleasure of man. Why should women be abused in this way. There is also another procedure that I cannot bring myself to mention as it is horrific for the women from which men take pleasure from,
