I am 21 years old and recently broke up with my finance. We did not have sex very often but when we did we used protection. I think that I am late for my period and I am just starting to get worried. I don't feel like I am going to start but I also have none of the signs of pregnancy. I just need some advice or comforting words regarding what to do.

Try to wait a little longer, you may just be under a lot of stress. I suppose you are worried that the protection may have had a hole in it. If you are fifteen days late, check yourself for pregnancy with the kit that you can buy from the pharmacy. It will probably be negative, but wait fifteen more days and check again, just in case. If you are pregnant, you need to make plans right away as to what you want to do with your life.
You have many options, and need to talk it over with a family plan center. But, breaking up may have you nervous and that can slow your period down. Sometime, one can even miss a period. You may be able to get free test at the family planning clinic. NV

if you used protection then chances are you are not pregnant. the delay in the start of your period is most likely due to stress. Unfortunately the more you worry about starting..the later it is going to be. If you don't start after about a week past what day you think you should start, then do a pregnancy test. It should help put your mind at ease about that matter at least. Hope you feel better soon!

When two people break up at times it is possible that the emotions from it all can cause your period to be late. This is normal.
But just because you used protection all the time does not mean that you could not get pregnant. It only takes a tiny pin hole in a rubber and then it can depend on how he takes it off or whether he left it in till he got soft. I am not trying to scare you or anything because you are probably just late but I am telling you this for your future.

The delay of the period has different reasons:
First is pregnancy
some infection
or some hormonal issue: if u had sex regulary with ur ex than ur hormonal "system" is used with it and when something regulary stops than changes come up cuz the hormons are working!
but to be sure check it out by going to a doc
