Women's Health - June 2007

I tried skipping a period using my birth control, and it worked for the week I wanted it to, but when I woke up this morning I found unexpected bleeding a week and a half after I should have gotten it. I'm not sure if it's the beginning of a period or if it's just breakthrough, but it appears to be more than just spotting. Should I keep taking my birth control pills through this bleeding, or do I stop? Otherwise I'm not sure when I would be expected to start them again. It's such a pain to get an appointment with my doctor, I was hoping someone else had gone through this. Help?

**I had dark - brownish discharge just before my period..

at first I saw that dark brown discharge (something that I have for the first time), but only 2 hours after I get my period (red blood period)..
What is causing that discharge and It's a sign of something going wrong, or it's normal?

i know what PMS is....and i know it s either before or during the period...but the girls in my class like have it EVERY SINGLE DAY
i am not kidding....it is like every single day

Hey I'm 17 (I know some people say you still have time to grow but I haven't grown for many years) I am only an A cup and have been thinking about plastic surgery (for when I'm around 20 or doing well financially) to enhance them to a B or C cup just so hopefully I could get more confidence as in my family with 2 sisters who are a D cup and B cup and my mum is a H cup I am the only flatchested one. I don't want really big boobs just normal sized boobs. I have done the research on the risks which is why I'm asking for other people's opinions.

I just had my third child 2 weeks ago. I am going in to have the essure procudure done at my 6 wk check up. They wanted me to get the depo shot right after I gave birth, but I had a bad reaction to it some years ago, so the DR gave me a prescription for the "mini pills". He said to start them as soon as I got home from the hospital, which I did. Now it seems as though my postpardum bleeding is getting worse, it definetly isn't getting any lighter as it did by this time with the other 2 children. Is this because of the pills or is this something I should call the DR about? I also do a lot more and don't have enough time to rest and I'm probally doing more than I should but with 3 kids now, I have to. I am just starting to get concerned with this.

does it matter how much you weigh for cramps to be very bad? im 13, 5 foot 8 inches, and weigh 98 pounds. i am healthy but some think im too skinny. i get terrible period pain cramps and i was just wondering- do cramps come more in fat or skinny people

I'm 21 years old. Normally, my period comes every 30 days. However, the last time it was 21 days, and now it is 19! I'm under stress, due to work, school and a relationship. Could this be the cause? I hope it will return to normal, or is it possible that it will remain more frequent and inconsistent? My flow is still extremely heavy, and lasts for 5-6 days on average.

When i first started my periods for the first year i would have them for upto 4 or 5 days....now for the last 2 months they run for 2 days then stop and i started my periods within 3 weeks for the first time and i always start them after 4 ot 5 weeks. is there something wrong?

Yesterday i was booked for an abdominal ultrasound and a transvaginal scan.I had the abdominal scan and she said she didnt need to do the other scan as she had seen all she needed to see.What worries me is if she hadnt seen anything wrong on the abdominal wouldnt she have done the other to be on the safe side.
i dont get the results for another week.do you think i should be worried.
the scan wasnt pregnancy related by the way.

I think i may have one..and its driving me nuts! I had a mild one around the beginning of the month and my gyno gave me a antibiotic for it. I also had a bacterial infection and she gave me some vaginal gel for that to have that go away. I just got off my period like 2 days ago...and i keep discharging...its not smelly or anything and im not itchy down there. Im sick of this discharge...sometimes its light brown and sometimes real light yellow. What is this.....is this normal or not??

Hi everyone....i have a "gal problem".....i reside in a normal climate area and if by any chance i travel out of town to a hot place i normally miss my periods or they come late. Last week my and my boyfriend went out of town (to a coastal town that was very hot) and while at "it" the cd bursted. He pulled out in time and the next day i took the morning pill as a precaution coz am not ready be a mummy. Its been 3 days and as usual my P's are late......am really worried wondering if its coz of the bursted cd or the usual tendancy of my P's coming late coz i travelled. I am now kindly asking if there is a way i can make my P's come ASAP or shud i just wait for them in agony?? and pliz dont ask me to go for the a test.....am over scared!!
