I just had my third child 2 weeks ago. I am going in to have the essure procudure done at my 6 wk check up. They wanted me to get the depo shot right after I gave birth, but I had a bad reaction to it some years ago, so the DR gave me a prescription for the "mini pills". He said to start them as soon as I got home from the hospital, which I did. Now it seems as though my postpardum bleeding is getting worse, it definetly isn't getting any lighter as it did by this time with the other 2 children. Is this because of the pills or is this something I should call the DR about? I also do a lot more and don't have enough time to rest and I'm probally doing more than I should but with 3 kids now, I have to. I am just starting to get concerned with this.

3 children are enough in this day and age. Time to get yourself fixed, and soon.

I'd be concerned with any kind of drugs a doctor gives me.

More than likely it's a combo of the PP bleeding and the pill. Your baby was born just 2 weeks ago, it's common to have some irregular bleeding here and there so soon after birth, especially if you've been quite active.

If you begin to pass clots and/or have severe cramping, by all means, call the ob/gyn.

Good luck with the Essure, I had it done at the same time as an endometrial ablation back in 12/04. All went well. :) When you have the HSG (hysterosalpingogram) done 3 months later, make sure you take some ibuprofen, as there is cramping with it. And don't forget to use back-up birth control before you have the HSG done. :)
