I'm growing more worried each year with how small my daughter is. She will be six on July 27th and weighs 38 lbs and is much shorter than all the kids in her kindergarten class.
When people ask her how old she is, and they take a guess; everyone says 3!! I feel bad for her, because she shakes her head and holds up 5 fingers and I know it bugs her when everyone says she's too small.
Our doctor doesn't seem worried; he says because my husband and I aren't tall (5'3" and 5'7) and my mom is 5'2 100 lbs that she just may not be very big. I'm NOT buying that. She was born a whopping 8 lbs 11 oz and has MAYBE gained 1 or 2 lbs in this last YEAR! She can still wear summer clothes that are size 3T...something is not right, I can just feel it. Call it mothers instict. How do I get my doctor to listen that I don't feel things are okay? I want her to be referred to a pediatrican or specialist. Help me! Any ideas, comments or advice would be greatly appreciated!
