If you really hit an artery or vein with a syringe full of air, you would cause an arterial embolism, a cardial embolism, or a stroke and die. Why do you think the doctor pushes all the air out of the needle before they inject you?

yes it can be deadly. It causes what is called an embolus. That is why, before you get an injection, the person giving you the injection ensures there is no air in the needle. It is treatable though. It's not typically this instantaneous thing like you see in some movies, or like that episode of smallville that aired the other day. :)

Yes, but it has to be a significant amount. A couple of milliliters won't hurt, but if you took something bigger, like a 30 ml syringe and injected all of that air into your veins, I'd start to be concerned.

Yes, that is really dangerous and fatal. If you pump air straight into your veins, it wont be long until the bubble will reach your heart, where it pumps blood to and from the arteries and veins. Sure way to die.

I can be very dangerous when you are diving if you come up too quick and get air bubble in your veins or something. That is why they need a compression chamber, so I would say yes.

yes , extra air in the blood can cause a blockage in the veins and you can die from it , or the air can go to your heart and also die from that.
