Skin Conditions - March 2007

I know its nasty but, i think my son got ringworm from a tree in my front yard, beacuse every time he goes near that stupid tree hee ends up with a ringworm. And my neice was by the tree and she got one on her chin within like a few hours. Is that possibly from the tree?

About a month ago I had the cyst at the end of my tailbone drained. What was left over was a bump where it used to be, like a lump of fat. I`ve waited this long for the lump to go away, and it hasn`t. I think it`s gotten larger. It feels jelly and it hurts when I press on it. If the cyst returns, will I have to get surgery?

One of them looks like half an eye, but not a normal one.. It looks, kind of fancy... 0_0
It sounds odd, but it's like two connecting lines, and then a swirl. And I just woke up and it was there, and I saw it when I noticed it throbbed. Then the same thing happend today, I found a thick and short line about 1 or 2 inches long on my other leg, and I only noticed it when it began to throb. What's going on? This hasn't happend before...

I'd like to know if it matters what type of sunblock darker skinned people use? I have a great summer job to earn extra money, but it requires me to be out in the sun for several hours. Last season, I got baked. I've never used sunblock before. Please help me.

after a bunch of different diagnosis's, the dr thinks i might have had ringworm on my face. I was using my makeup during the outbreak to try to cover up the redness because at first he just thought it was a food allergy---so now will have to buy all new makeup???

I have a very small sore on my bottom lip. I know it is not a cold sore because I have had them before and this isn't it. It is very small and kind of reminds me of a tiny pimple. It is in the middle of my lip and hurts A LOT. Anyone have any idea what this is? thanks...

I got really burned today on my body and face after suntanning in the sun I have been suntanning for three days now and I still am getting burned. I put lotion on. I really need to get tan by tuesday, so should I just stay out of the sun until then or can I still suntan with lotion and eventually I will start to get tan? I have aloe vera burn relief spray that I use to keep my skin moist, but should I be using regular lotion instead? I'm fair skin, and I have brown hair. What should I do to make sure I have a tan by tuesday?

worried so i told a friend of mine and she said she had one too but it was normal. Now i have more than one and it hurts when i go to the restroom but besides that i dont really feel them, the first bump that i noticed turned red but it kinda got hard like if it was a cut that got healed. i have either a keloid or a hypertonic(i think thats how its spelled) scar after surgery. Im using silicone sheets at night and rubbing mederma on in that day...i also heard massaging with cocoa butter also helps..when i do this, i can feel the scar soften for a little bit but it looks like the insicion line becomes more red and more apparent...does massaging do more harm than good and what elso can i use on the scar to get rid of it before summer

I have Indian heritage so I tan very easily & very rarely burn. Well in the last couple years I have quite a bit of problems with UV light. Last summer I went tanning a couple times, something I used to do a couple times a year with no problems. My entire body itched like crazy every night after I tanned and I got these horrible white patches where my skin would peal off a little bit(I never burned). The same thing happens to me when I'm out in the sun... I itch like CRAZY and get these dry patches which after a couple days become white patches. I'm not talking itty bitty patches, my entire arm looked like I had leprosy-it was HORRIBLE!!! Why would I have this sudden reaction to UV light and is there anything I can do about it?!?

Every year my skin flares up. I also have Rhinitus which means im allergic to substances and so i get blocked sinus's. I get it badly on my neck and arms. And also sometimes on my face. I've tried many methods to treat this. Im basically asking if anyone has any ideas as to what else may be causing this flare up? At the moment i have to bind my arms in bandages at night and wear gloves/socks on my hands to make sure i dont make it worse... as it is i'm very image conscious and i go to great lengths to try and look good... i dont know what else to do.

Dermatologists have prescribd me Betnovate and Hydrocortisone. Both of which are fairly effective but i want to tackle this at the source of the problem.

Ive done my research and it could be caused by seasons, pollen, dust, food allergies and stress. What else could bring up these flare ups?

And are there any alternative treatments?
