I got really burned today on my body and face after suntanning in the sun I have been suntanning for three days now and I still am getting burned. I put lotion on. I really need to get tan by tuesday, so should I just stay out of the sun until then or can I still suntan with lotion and eventually I will start to get tan? I have aloe vera burn relief spray that I use to keep my skin moist, but should I be using regular lotion instead? I'm fair skin, and I have brown hair. What should I do to make sure I have a tan by tuesday?

thanks

If you keep laying out, you will have the reddest, nastiest, driest peeling skin by Tuesday. I would stay out of the sun and give your skin a chance to heal and it should be tanned when the burn dies down. Is somebody going to kill you if you aren't tanned by tuesday??

OK. First, if you are burned now, stay out of the sun. You are doing further damage to your skin.

Try soaking in a green tea bath. I read somewhere yesterday that there is something in the tea that will help limit the damage.

Alternate between the aloe and suntan lotion. Not oil, lotion. There is some evidence that suggests that the lotion can limit the damage even after the burn has already occurred.

Lastly, forget about tan by Tuesday. If you are burned now, there is no way to recover in time, and then tan.

One of the best things for a bad sunburn is a half-and-half mixture of vinegar and cold water, applied with a sponge. It's anticarcinogenic as well as cooling down the discomfort of the burn.

If you've burnt yourself badly, you can also try stewing an ordinary tea bag until you get a disgusting liquid, then applying it with a sponge on to your skin. The tannin in the tea helps the burn turn into a tan.

Aloe vera helps a tan as well. I don't know why, since it actually protects the skin from damage, but it seems to have a browning effect too. (I use the leaves fresh from the plant.)

Next time, try one of those new long-term slow-tan creams that have just come on the market recently. It's not like a one-off fake tan; it's a touch of fake tan in a moisturiser, and it builds up gradually over weeks until you look tanned. So it can't go streaky or cracky.

STAY OUT OF THE SUN!!

If you haven't tanned by now, you are not going to. You are only doing more and more damage to your skin. You are fair and you most likely will only continue to get burned. If you need a tan that bad, get an airbrushed one.

The only thing you are doing is burning already burned skin. What were you thinking?? And don't think of tanning beds, either. They do the same damage the sun does.

Once your burn heals, use a high SPF (at least 40). Is a tan that only lasts a few days worth all this pain and the increased risk of skin cancer??

STOP STOP!!! Don't lie in the sun or tanning bed until your burn is healed. Try aloe vera for the sunburn and stay out of the sun until your burn is GONE.
I like to lie in the tanning bed. I go to a 20 minute bed and lie only seven minutes the first time and gradually increase the time I am in the bed each time I go back. You have to be careful. You have to get a tan gradually. You can't get a tan as quickly as you are wanting to. However, you can get some self tanner. Neutrogena makes a good one. I use that sometimes. You can also get a spray on tan at a salon. They're good for short notice. NO MORE SUN until that burn is GONE!!!!!

Stay out of the sun so that the burn can turn into a tan and keep plenty of lotion on to keep from peeling which will take the tan away. Try spray tanning!!! Works great for quick tans. Make sure you get it on even though.

Unfortunatly if you have really fair skin you really shouldn't be tanning. If your burn doesn't turn into a tan eventually it is highly unlikely you have a good skin type for tanning. Furthermore sun tannning, espeacially where you burn puts you at high risk for skin cancer. If you really want a tan though go to a professional tanning place like fabutan they will come up with you skin type and the best tanning for you so you don't have that whole fake and bake orange thing going on.

You may have to have a tan in a bottle for this one. Don't do that to your skin! You have to take it easy with the sun. You will end up looking like a lobster and then everyone will laugh at you.

Right now you need to be drinking 8 oz. of water a day and take Cell Guard from Biotec Foods, Co Q-10, Colloidal silver, DMG, Amino acid complex, herpanacine, L-Cysteine, Potassium, Pycnogenol, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, calcium, magnesium, essential fatty acids, silica, vitamin B complex, Vitamin E oil, and zinc.

I really don't think you understand how dangerous this is. Try to think ahead next time. Being in a hurry always leads to shortcuts. Shortcuts lead to a shorter life.

If you're sunburned then you've had it. I would say, definately stay out of the sun until Tues. You might have a tan, somewhat; after the redness goes away but you should have gone a little slower. Fair skin tends to burn, if you get to much sun too fast.
