Skin Conditions - December 2006

When I break out with pimples, it is bad. I try different types of skin care to get rid of them, but they never work! Also, as a result of this acne, they scar. I have scars, but how to I get rid of them!?

she is only a young child and no one else in are family have any bites .these bites last for up to 5 weeks but they are scaring her skin you can see were the old bites have been we have pulled everything apart and washed her hole room and bed but she is still getting them please help her

I have a really dry scalp. I've had eczema since I was a child. Sometimes when it's windy or cold out and my hair is a bit damp it hurts my scalp. I've tried Neutrogena, but it hurts. I'm looking for a gentle product for sensitive scalps. Any suggestions?

The patient is a middle aged man who noticed a lump on his right forearm, which is solid, firm and red, with a slight heat. When he first noticed it, the lump was the size of a pea, with no breaks in the skin at all. Four days later on December 16th the patient went to his doctor because the lump had grown to the size of a golf ball. At this time a blood culture grew nothing and the patient was given a shot of keflix and sent home with Septra (SXT) Bactrim. Three days later the patient went to the emergency room because the bump was the size of a softball, he was feverish and delusional with a blood sugar well over 500. By this time the bump hurt very badly (pain scale 1-10, 8 or 9. 10 being unconscious); his whole arm was red with multiple red lines going up. Blood culture was done and the results where moderate Gram positive cocci and many Polymorphic nuclear cells. what does he have?

I have no idea what this is, there is a large reddish flaky patch of skin on each side of my mouth (on the corners of my lips) resembling Psoriasis. I know it isn't that, Perioral Dermatitis or Cold Sores / Herpies. I've tried Chapsticks, Vaseline, all manner of topical moisturisers, eating more fruit, drinking loads of water ... could this be a vitamin deficiency? Thanks in advance.

Every once in a while, portions of my fingers (like, the sections between the creases) will get really red and really, really, REALLY itchy. Like, painfully itchy. Unable to be ignored itchy. They get really hot, too, and there's a pulse. They swell up and get so tight it seriously feels like my finger might burst. There's no pain involved, just extreme itchiness and heat and the weird swelling. It goes away after 45 minutes or so.

Anyone know what this might be? I'm going to try to work up the courage to go to the dermatologist, but I feel so silly describing something so weird--especially when it's not happening *right that moment.*

A black pen burst on my hand
so i washed them with soap and warm water
and i got some of it off
but its left my skin blue ??
then i used some nail varnish remover to get it off
it got some off
but left my skin purple
