In a movie, a man was walking out of an office and he took a handkerchief out of his mouth and dabbed it at his mouth and head, and a couple scenes later, blood came out of his mouth.

I am 17 years old and about 7 months ago my doctor told me i was anemic and she was not sure why! I eat the right way and i don't have heavy periods! She has checked my blood several times over the past months and each time my hemoglobin level has gotten worse! And i feel a lot more tired then usual! She has also checked to see if there was blood in my stool but there was not! I am getting really scared now because i don't know what is going to happen next! What could be wrong.... what could be causing my anemia! I take a large amount of iron twice a day but it has not improved anything! WHat other types of tests do you think my doctor will do in order to solve my problem! My friends said she will probelly do a bone marrow biopsy to see if i have cancer....... is this true and do you really think that i could have cancer!!!!

If you have then pray for her!!!!! If not, she is a girl that found out she had cancer like 4 years ago, they told her that she only had months to live. She recently was hospitalized on acount of seizures and her heart stopped. That was 2 weeks ago. Now, she is doing great and everyone thought she was going to die. She may be going home as early as Wednesday. Pray for her health everyone, because she is a miracle only God could make.

I have no family history of cancers at all except an aunt who died from breast cancer. But, I have had ulcerative colitis for around 5-6 years in the entire colon (and 1 yrbefore that on the left side only). I am going to start my yearly screenings in a week..(full colonoscopy with biopsies) apparently because my risk of cancer increases after living with UC for that long.. should i be worried or are the chances still very slim? I ve been in remission for 5 years now but i read that the period in which the disease is in remission has no connection to the chances of getting cancer.. any thoughts?

exactly two weeks ago, my left armpit felt sore and i felt a lump there 2 days later. i waited for a a week and went to see a doctor. at first she said it looked like a lymph node and after asking me questions and examing my breast and the lump, { she tried to move the surrounding skin over it} she said it was a sebaceous cysts because the lump moved with the skin. she says if it were to be a lymph node it would not have moved and would have stayed in place.

she says there is no lump in my breast. i have no other symptoms apart from slight headaches and an ache in my ear. its 2 weeks now and the lump is still there. i now feel some occasional pains especially when i raise up my hand or touch it.
i noticed a smaller lump in my other armpit some days ago three days after i shaved. could it have been a result of the shaving or what? its hard and very small.
i am scared. what can these be? how long will it take them to go and what are the differences between lymph nodes and cysts?

Hi to all, I would like to ask, which foods does any recommend for someone suffering from cancer to maintain their weight, while have chemotherapy. My Mother is 45 years old, and suffers from; breast cancer, lung cancer, brain cancer, and liver cancer. She has lost almost 20kgs in the past few years, and now she’s down to 60kg. Though the last weeks days she had dropped to 58kg. I know it’s normal for someone to lose weight, but which foods will help her gain, and maintain weight, without affecting or irritating the liver much. Thanks a lot for your time. Any information will be great. Thanks in advance.

Is this a turbo charged cancer or did someone drop the ball?

She was just diagnosed last week, and was told not to worry because the lump was so small that she will probably just have a lumpectomy and no chemo. This morning she woke up with blood running from her nipple [which I know is a sign that the cancer may be more advanced than first thought.] Then she admitted that she has lost 2 toenails and is working on the 3rd one. And all this has only been since last Thursday. This is my best friend's mom.My BF has 2 sisters,One died at 48 of matastatic cancer. The 2nd has extreamly advanced lung cancer, but has lived way beyond the 6 weeks she was given. The mother has had several skin cancers removed before her breast cancer diagnosis last week. My BF asked me to please research this issue. We do not intend to tell mom, but to discuss it with her Dr. My friend is completely involved with her mom's treatments. Thanks for your help

Dad has colon cancer...and he obviously would like to get his 12 chemo treatments done..but for the 2nd time in a row.. he has to wait..cuz of his blood work. Does chemo only work if its done consistantly..(like every 2 weeks)..or.. is it just important..to get as many in your system..even if it can only be done once a month for example?..

Scared daugther.. thanks you all..

I have recently noticed that some semi-famous persons who gets cancer use it for personal gain. either by writing books or doing interviews with anyone who will listen. This is also catching on among everyday people like you and me, I was reading an article the other week about a mother whos' child is going through chemo right now and they are in the process of writing a book about it. some even go as far as saying that cancer was the best thing to happen to them (lance armstrong).

So how do you feel about it? Are they writing the books for others or for profit?
Can anyone really say that cancer was the best thing to happen to them?

(I have been living with cancer for 19 years, not a "survivor" yet)
