Working 3rd shift by itself has nothing to do with cancer. However, studies have shown people who work 3rd shift tend to have poorer health.

There are certainly many theories behind this. From lack or light to hormones to lack of social interaction/depression but, the most common thread was that the diet (ever try getting fresh food at 3am) and lack of exercise were most to blame.

What has working a 3rd shift got to do with cancer? It wouldn't make any difference how many shifts you did.

Hee hee.
Not at all. Everyone has thier own unique internal schedule. Not all people are designed physically to be up early and go to bed early. Working 3rd shift doesn't cause any serious health problems, besides insomnia for some.

You can't get cancer from working at any time of the day... however you can get ill if you expose to chemical in work places and fail to balance your life and get all rest your body need to go on....
