Life is for living. If we all did was do everything that was good for us we'd all live in sterile bubbles. So I just do what I like but in moderation.

Very few things have actually been found to have a direct cause/effect relationship with cancer.
Some things can significantly increase your risk of specific types of cancer, eg smoking and lung cancer.
Others can have some influence.
Age is still the biggest risk factor, with environment/lifestyle coming second and genetics coming in 3rd as causing ony 5% of cancers.
Eat a healthy diet, don't smoke, get regular exercise, avoid obesity, drink only in moderation and protect yourself from the sun and you minimise your risks.
Nothing guarantees you won't get cancer, all you can do is reduce your risk factors and get screened regularly.
Often these scare stories about particular foods or chemical are based on studies where these products are used on rats or other animals at a rate that does not reflect real life, eg pringles may have been 100% of their diet!

I think that people so desperately want to be in control of their lives that they grab on to anything that they believe they CAN control, whether or not reality fits their theories.
If we get rid of all those horrible illegals, I'll always have a job.
If I don't talk on the cell phone more than 30 minutes a day, I'll never have a brain tumor.
If I raise my child THIS way, he'll never have a drug problem.
So we tell ourselves that we are in control of our destiny, and we feel safer. We may not be safer, but we feel safer. Sadly, it sometimes means passing harsh judgments on others or condemning harmless behaviors that go against our safety beliefs. Doesn't help a bit, however, when the safe falls out of the warehouse window on our head - like in the cartoons.
Taking some risks is part of the joy in life. Riding on a cool morning in a hot air balloon could certainly kill you, but it'd be a risk worth taking. Smoking cigarettes, on the other hand, is a pretty stupid risk to take, and has very little benefit. (I smoke. Dumb!)
Anyway, that's why I believe people get so excited about thing like Pringles. It makes them feel safe. And it's WAY easier than doing the actual research to find out the REAL avoidable risks, like eating only highly processed grains, that we could actually do something about and increase our safety.

No. Keep in mind that no one knows what 'causes' cancer . . nearly everything you read or are told is not based on solid scientific evidence . . but based on speculation or half truth. In the overwhelming majority of cases absolutely no one knows what, if anything, causes the cell in one part of the body to mutate and 'cause' cancer. At the most . . all we know is that cancer mutates . . we do not know, for instance, why one person who smokes can get lung cancer but another smoker will not get lung cancer. Thus, even though we know that people are at higher risk for getting lung cancer if they smoke . . we don't know why not everyone will get lung cancer if they smoke. Every single environmental cause that is pointed at as a 'cause' for cancer does not adequately explain why one person will get that cancer while another exposed to the same environment will not.
In light of those odds . . well . . moderation appears to be the best path to follow. No one can predict who or who will not get cancer at all . . so, if you like pringles . . eat them without worry. Don't overeat them, but if you want to occassionally have some . . go ahead. Enjoy your life. Stay healthy. Exercise. Remain strong. And, if you ever get cancer . . it won't be because you had a few pringles.
Best to you.

As a cancer patient myself, I can tell you that if you read too much information you'll scare yourself silly.Everything in moderation, have a treat now and then, and live life to the full I say.I did get paranoid about things I ate and cosmetics I used etc, but the hospital said the cancer I had was genetic and not to worry too much.

all this is scaremongering, i find the media just wants to fill up a page of what they call 'shock read' etc etc and then divulge in whatever they think will sell that paper/magazine that day. in all honesty if we're just careful on how we're living eg smoking/drinking and generally be healthy then we shud be ok but sometimes cancer will hit us thru no fault of own.

Food will not give us cancer.
Cancer is caused by genetics, or can be caused by substance abuse [smoking, drinking, chewing tobacco.] Yes, drinking alcohol can give you pancreatic cancer, or even liver cancer.
Washing dishes with too much soap will do nothing but give you soapy dishes :P No fun lol.
So chill out and enjoy yourself.
