My mom is suffering from a stage 3 breast cancer. Right now she has been suggested to undergo chemotherapy > operation > chemotherapy > radiation. Its a prolonged treatment in allopathy. I have heard about siddha and ayurvedic treatments for breast cancer patients. Can someone give me details or point me to doctors who are experts in handling such cases?
Thanks in advance

Ok, in the past few months, I've started having a few problems. First, I've been unrelentlessly constipated (laxatives only give me short term diarrhea, but no long term effects). Eating oatmeal helps a little, but not enough. I get cramps and shooting pains in my chest, belly, sides, and lower back. I have searing gas pains. I get dizzy headaches, and am often nauseous. I feel fatigued, and unusually sleepy in the morning. And now, just recently, on the few occasions in which I CAN, in fact, poop, there's blood. Today there was quite a bit.

I'm not expecting an official diagnosis here - I'm seeing a Dr. as soon as I get my Med. insurance from work this week - but are there any of you that might be knowledgable enough to know what this sounds like? Should I be a little worried, or very?
Hemorrhoid?

How do you determine if a tumor is malignant or cancerous based on the terminology alone? In my med term. class the only question I missed on our last exam was about a sarcoma. The answer was, " a malignant tumor...."

I was adviced to get a sonogram of my thryoid done. My doctor told me the results today and I guess I kinda blanked-out when he said to check if its benign or not.

Here is what my results says:

Clinical History: 20 yr-old female; r/o thyroid nodule
Right Lobe: 3.4 cm x 1.7 cm x 2.0 cm. Normal in size. Nodule is noted measuring 1.4 cm x 1.0 cm with minimal increased blood flow pattern in the perphery.
Left Lobe: 3.5cm x 1.3cm x 1.2cm. Normal in size. Echo paattern is normal. No solid or cystic lesion is seen.
Istamus of thyroid gland measures 4mm which is within normal limits.

Conclusion
1. Evidence of 1.4cm in the right lobe of thyroid gland.
2. Suggest correlation with nuclear medicine thyroid scan to exclude hyperfunctioning nodule and subsequently to consider biopsy of this solitary nodule.

I know that I might have to have a biopsy. He said the nodule is solid not liquid so they can't drain it. I'm kinda at a loss and I guess scared. What can this all mean?

My mom died of over a week ago. She died on her 64th birthday. She had breast cancer, but died of sepsis. She was diagnosed 3 years ago and it seems that she suffered for about the last 4 months.

I miss her.

I've never had a regular menstral cycle and i've had pains in my abdomin for about 10years,the doctor told me to ignore it.In the past 3 years i've had cycts removed and then they said they found either precancerous or cancerous cells on my cervix.when they went and cut out part of my cervix the doctor said he saw more cells going up my birth canal.I asked him what i should do about it and he said just ignore it,and about the pain? he told me i was just addicted to the 12 vicodin he'd given me from the last surgery and that i wasn't hurting i was just going thru withdraw, even though i've had the pains in my abdomin for about 10years.Can anyone tell me anything to help me out???

So we all know that Eddie Van Halen has/had cancer and he is recently divorced (or separated) from his wife, Valerie. Apparently he has been drinking a lot and not taking the best care himself but why do so many people criticize him, his appearance and what he does? He is a human being who just happens to be dealing with a ton of issues and knowing a person who is dealing with or lost their life to cancer - I get sick of radio DJ's and thousands of other cancer-free people make light of what he is going through. I believe he needs counselling and will make it through this and hopefully make a good spokesperson about surviving cancer.

No one is answering this question...and I really need to know....

Does anyone know the ramifications of abusing alcohol while receiving chemotherapy? What is the effect? My mother in law is currently undergoing chemo for stage 3 ovarian cancer. The problem is that she is a major alcoholic. She has recently (in the last few weeks) she has gone back to her old ways of drinking heavily. Anyone who has known of this situation who can comment? Thanks in advance.

My mom was diagnosed with stage IV at the age of 60 (she died over a week ago at the age of 64) and I was wondering if I should get a mammogram. I am in my early thirties, so I don't even know if my insurance will pay for it.
