I pity you. First of all the cancer pain can not prolong for 10 long years. It means what you had is not cancer. Secondly your doctor has not explained you the position correctly or you have not understood. Dee
Cervical Cancer called Carcinoma of Cervix is a malignancy of the cervix. Worldwide, it is the second most common cancer of women. It may present with vaginal bleeding but symptoms may be absent until the cancer is in advanced stages, which has made cervical cancer the focus of intense screening efforts utilizing the Pap smear. Its symptoms will show mostly in advanced stages and the treatments are surgery, Chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
My wife is a patient of Cancer of Cervix and she is suffering for the past 3 years. First the Doctors attempted surgery but they had to abandon it as the tumor was more are less attached to the urinary balder kidney and other organs. They felt surgery would puncture the balder and it would be fatal. So they abandoned and treatment of Chemo- radiation was given. No the disease is completely gone but she is suffering from Radiation proctrites (after effects).
So like many others I also suggest you to go to an good surgical oncologist and tell him everything in details and he will give make proper assessment and give correct treatment, which have explained above.
Do not worry for anything and if you have faith pray God. You will be alright. God bless you.

Woman, u need to get a new doctor. Any time u have a dr that ignores u or ur symptoms or doesn't take u seriously, u need to switch drs. It isn't going to hurt him any if u die or if u go somewhere else. There r millions of people who can take ur place. If u have cancer cells marching up ur birth canal, u need more than a vicodin. If nothing else, go to the er for abdominal pain and try to get them to do some tests.

the best help I can offer is to get a second opinion. Perhaps someone who specializes in womens health related to cancer...I too have always had irregular periods and every pap I have had has come back abnormal with precancerous conditions. It sounds like your doctor may not know what he is talking about...removing part of the cervix is a bit forceful...most people with cervical cancer can be cured with freezing treatments...just be careful which route you go...especially if yu want to have children

You definitely will need another opinion. I would suggest a teaching hospital that trains new doctors. They should be on the cutting edge of technology. When in doubt check it out. I do not know where you are located but I would check out either University of Iowa hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City Iowa or maybe Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. Good luck.

Girl, find yourself another doctor, perferably someone who will listen. You know your body better than anyone and in this day and age you need to take a proactive stance on your medical care. The pain could be more cysts, fiborids, endometriosis...or scar tissue from previous procedures. But to be told to ignore abnormal cells that could turn malignant could be grounds for a malpractice suit.

Get another doctor as soon as possible. You should not be ignoring pain that you have had for 10 or more years.
Good Luck.

Run as fast as you can to a new doc. My mom recently died of breast cancer and I wish she had gotten a second opinion or a new doc. Even if it didn't change the outcome, I think I might feel a little better had she gotten one.
