I have had three out of six sessions of chemo and have lost some- but not all of my hair. Granted I had a lot of hair to begin with- but my doctor said I would lose my hair... is my chemo still working?

Honestly I do not know. But if you are worried the best person to ask might be your doctor.
And enjoy your hair!!

Don't sweat it, thumb...The chemo is almost certainly still working, hair loss is a common side effect but does not happen to everyone. I never lost my hair...of course I didn't actually have much anyway! You don't say what you are being treated for, but your chemo drugs may be more specifically targetted to the tumor, and so aren't having such negative impact on the rest of you. Best wishes with the rest of your treatments.

Remember, cancer sucks, but beating it is the best thing that can happen to anybody; Once you've survived it, the whole of the rest of your life is gravy! You don't need to worry about anything, because you realize nothing really matters anyway.

Good luck!

(If the rest of your hair does fall out, buy an outrageous hat. If anyone stares, you have permission to shout "What, you never saw anyone with cancer?" It makes people feel just awful, but it's funny!)

All hair doesn't always fall out. I shaved my head when mine started falling out so it wouldn't clog drains or leave clumps on my pillow every morning. Also, when it started growing back post chemo it was all the same length.

The nice thing about it was all the money I saved at the hairdresser and I didn't have to shave my legs for 7 months! I'm coming up on my 2 year anniversary of completion of chemo and my hair is just like it was before I was diagnosed. Fine and thin. When it first started coming back it was nice and thick like it was when I was a kid.

I didn't lose all of my hair until about 3 months into treatment. I was told it would be gone in 14 days. But it lasted for a long time and then one day it was time to shave my head. I'm sure your chemo is working but your doc will probably do more tests to make sure soon. Ask your doc.

Not losing hair is no indication of the chemo not working. Most people lose it some don't. You're lucky!!! Smile!
I start chemo ... umm at 3pm today :-( I have a feeling, my hair will go though. If you still feel uncomfortable- ask your doctor! :-)

Awww..first of all I want to say how sorry I am to hear you have to go thru chemo. I hope you get better! You should speak with your doctor about the hair loss, he/she could help you better than anyone. I hope you get to enjoy your hair for as long as you can.

It depends on what chemo you are getting . I am on CMF for Breast Cancer, had 6 of 8 and still have my hair. It is thinner but not all gone.

Chemo is not what works. The immune system is God gave us to rid the body of disease and infection. the drugs you are taking will cause you to have heart disease. (Read the side effects).

If you want the immune system to function properly you have to give it the right stuff.
