my grandad died when i was 6. i dont know anything about him(and i mean pretty much nothing)exept that he died of pancreatic cancer. no-one talks about him so i dont understand what really happened. i think my mum once said that he told us not to see him anymore when i was a toddler(basically he ran away) and that grandad lost alot of weight and looked very ill.
lately my dad has been very distant and i was happy about it since i dont like my dad at the moment but the last few times he's been over to see me he has lost alot of weight and he's been looking quite ill, my dad told us that he has been ill and is now better but he told us a bulls**t story. even if it was true its got me thinking, if grandad died of cancer does that mean my dad's chances of getting it are higher
I may hate my dad but i love enough to not want him to get cancer

He had prostate cancer and was treated 6 years ago, it came back his blood tests showed a high level of indicator [sorry can't remember its name]. He is in his 70's and found his initial chemo debilitating. He decided not to have a second course. He is still alive and pretty much living a normal life! If you have secondary's is it better to have treatment or take the gamble? Obviously in his case it paid off, My Mum died within months from having treatment for secondary's and suffered alot. What is your experience. Please let me know as I have a 1 in 8 chance of suffering the same fate. Mum had primary ovarian cancer and whilst being treated for secondary's she developed primary Breast cancer unrelated to the Ovarian cancer. It was questioned had the chemo caused cell damage causing the new second cancer. Thanks and God Bless anybody being treated right now. xxx

Ok, my mother in law was diagnosed with malinoma cancer and I am asking this question for her since she is very computer illiterate.

30 years ago she had a lump under her arm develope and the drs told her it was nothing to worry about, but last year it started to hurt, and Jan of this year I finally convinced her just because it was ok 30yrs ago doesn't mean it is ok now. She had a biopsy done and it was malinoma, the drs removed it and told her they got it all. Heres the wierd thing, the lump was under the skin like in her armpit area, It felt like a breast lump in there

another lump developed and they cut that one out , and did another PET scan and found cancer on the bones of her left shoulder the size of her thumb, on two vertibre in her lower back the size of marbles, another lump under her arm the size of her thumb, and two in her liver the size of a finger nail.
I was wondering if there is anyone else out there who has had this happen, what they did what treatment etc
