Im a 35 year old single mom and have been battling inflamatory breast cancer since Nov.05. I started chemo immidiately every week for 6 months followed by a double masectomy this June 06 then 2 months of radiation mon-fri. I just had my 6 week check up and i get a month off until Jan.07 for more chemo (pills this time). I'm very blessed to be here and in no way am i complaining, but I'm in need of a good pick me up and I just can't get the lift i need to enjoy. Is there any suggestions please!!

Geez I'm sorry you've had to go through all of this. You're very strong! If you're up for it, you could volunteer somewhere, maybe help out at a homeless shelter or a Boys/Girls Club. Maybe you and your kid can do something together. Pick up a hobby together in the evenings. For example, my city's Parks and Rec dept has a bunch of random things to do. Of course some of them have fees but it's just an idea. What about joining a health club? If you can swim you could join a water aerobics class!! Just some suggestions. Hope everything goes well for you. Take care :)

I would have to completely agree with Sindi. Surround yourself with those that you love by doing something you enjoy. I'm sure your energy level is limited so if your enjoyment is having a houseful of people, lots of activities, kids, etc. then do that but ask the help of others for bringing food, drinks. Otherwise, get some together to see a movie, have lunch, get a pedicure but do it with those that you love. Take some cookies to the oncology dept./ chemo treatment area where you have been going also. Happy Holidays & God Bless!

looking at your child should be the only `pick me up you need ` , you are alive and have your child . i am so happy for you to be a survivor as many with cancer are not , good luck to you and yours and god bless..........which he has done for you already , take care
