I have had UC for almost 3 years, it came on very suddenly and it has changed my entire life style. I would like to hear from anyone who has this or Colitis, or Chron's. I need help and understanding and what treatments other's have tried or suggest. I'm at my wits end, and I want to return to my active lifestyle, but am exhausted, and if I eat, it just makes it worse. I've been to the Specialist, and he just gets me more pills, cortizone stuff which makes me feel even worse!! I am getting yeast now too from all this medication.

Any alternative treatments? I am not happy with the doctors I've seen, and I've had every test you can imagine, and they want to do another colonoscopy-- which will make me very sick for 2 months!! HELP!!

Please answer if you have knowledge and can offer hope and help.

For all the apple cider vinegar believers out there: wouldn't it be as beneficial just to take potassium supplements? I ask this only because in my research, I've found that the only real beneficial ingredients in apple cider vinegar is the potassium. It contains only trace amounts of other minerals, etc. I do think that this ACV fanaticism is but an anecdote. Thanks for the insight.

I'm not sure this question goes under this category, but I can't seem to find a near-relevant sub-cat in Beauty and Style for 'concocting your own skincare'.

I read that agar-agar is used as both an emulsifier and stabilizer in cosmetics field for its gelling agent. So I bought some agar-agar powder and did some experiment today trying to bind some apple cider vinegar-dilluted water(I have no idea why I chose that. Just something at hand I guess) and grapeseed oil...aarrggh...it was disastrous. It end up a jelly cake with some leftover oil on top !!

How much to put, I mean the measurement / % for oil-in-water base?

Can it be use on water-in-oil base?

Any ideas?
