I am making a Mexican feast and I am wondering what are the best wines to have?

I know the best answer here is "beer" or "tequila" but some of my guest do not drink beer or tequila.

I am having Tex-Mex chicken enchaladas in red sauce, rice, beans and a Ceasar salad. I am willing to buy up to 3 different kinds of wine..

Also, is there are kind of wine that goes with Flan?

Every year, our city hosts a "Chili Cookoff". Businesses or social groups around town set up booths, and people can buy tickets and sample chili from all of the booths. It is a great way to socialize and to get the word out about your business, however big or small it may be. I have an AWESOME chili recipe- everybody says I should enter it in the Chili Cookoff for the city to try.

Our city has a population of 500,000 people. Judges come around to each of the booths and judge the chili, and of course that one that wins is great advertisement.

Last year, I found out after the fact of a business that wanted to participate in the cookoff, but didn't have anybody to cook for them. I might hook up with them for the next cookoff- but my question is, how much should I charge? It is a day long event, and I would of course have to put a decent amount of prep work, etc into it. I was thinking around 150 dollars or so? Is this too much, too little? any advice is appreciated!

I'm eating an organic Pink Lady apple from Australia, and it's delicious, but the flavor is lush and rich in contrast to Gala apples. What causes these distinctions between varieties?

For dirty work, like wiping counters. Or do they just hang there and look pretty for drying hands? Just curious.

I would like to purchase a high quality blender and am looking for suggestions. It would be used most often for making smoothies, frozen drinks, and blending soups. Must be able to blend ice without leaving big chunks or burning out. Thanks!

What's the better way to keep bread lasting longer? Freeze it...or toss it in the fridge?? I don't eat bread often and my toddler only has one slice a day at most, so it always seems to be going bad.

I have been eating Green Spanish Olives since I was 11 years old. I would go through jars, in a month. When I became pregnant with my daughter, I no longer had a taste for them. Now 2 and a half years later, at 25 almost 26 my craving is back. I just ate a jar last night. Why am I addicted to these things? Does anyone else enjoy them or no someone who does?

We were without power for about 2 and a half days in about 106 degree tempratures. Everything in the freezer had gone down to a warm refrigerator temprature (not warm, kinda cool, but definately not refrigerator cool - I don't know the temp). I was wondering if our meat that was in there is any good still? We had chicken, ground beef, pork chops, salmon and hot dogs in there.
If we keep the food, would we be at risk for food poisoning?
Thanks!

I am always the one changing milk bags and cartons. I think we have tons of cereal until I actually pick up the boxes and half of them are empty- same goes for crackers, cookies......etc.

I am off on a work trip from the UK to NJ USA next week and want to take something with me as a present to some of the staff there. I was thinking of taking quality street or something similiar but don't want to take something they can get over there. There is a lot of staff BTW so a big tin is needed.

We have a cottage that is the family hang out spot. We have a fridge that's filled with different types of beer and soda.. When my grandpa was alive, there used to be loads of people that'd come down there, and of course, pay for their beer..
Well now that we're getting crowds down there again, some people are deciding not to pay for the beer, booze, soda, etc... and we always have a sign hanging on the fridge that says: Beer- $1.00, Booze-$1/Shot, Soda-$0.50, and Water-$0.50... Well we want to put a catchy saying on the bottom to get people's attention... Theese are a couple that we thought of but we really don't like them...
1. Electricity isn’t free… Neither is the beer!
2. Things haven’t changed. You still have to pay!
3. No Credit!

What kind of chili (or pepper) is used in "green chili" recipes?

When you get a can of green chiles, the ingredients just say "chopped green chiles", but I've never seen anything in the produce section that just says "green chili".

So is it a bell, serano, jalapeno, pablano, or something else?
