I only drink 2-3 times/month. I'm a very responsible 30 year old father of 3 (recently divorced) and 95% of my time is spent raising my 3 daughters or working. However, when I go out I seem to drink to the point of near blackout or total blackout (depending on who I'm with). It's like I can't feel the affects of the alcohol until I'm way over the top. Somehow I manage to make it through the night safely but God only knows how I got from place to place or what I spent my money on. Would like to hear of some similar cases or some advice from a counselor or someone in a similar position.

Just curious. I used to bartend in college, and i was just wondering how the drink industry has evovled. drinks and recipies would be great! I'll start, I like the jager monster! It is 3 shots of jager, 4 ounces of OJ, and a splash of grenadine!

Mine would be Fat Tire, not too dark, smooth, a little sweet, and a bit of hops, and gets better with every glass, perfect.

Why is it when someone binge drinks alcohol they are told told to go to AA and stop drinking entirely, but if someone is bulimic and eats massive quantities of food they are not told to stop eating food but taught how to control it?

Why can't someone who drinks too much once or twice a month when they go clubbing be taught/learn how to drink in moderation? Why does it have to be all or nothing when it comes to alcohol?

Does anybody have a more realistic solution on how to control drinking too much in an evening out BESIDES AA or not going out or drinking at all...?
