Hi. I'm just started to gain interested in cooking. When I observe how the people in south east Asia cooks, they often use garlic as an added recipe to make the food smells good. I just curious, besides to make to food smells good, why does people used garlic for? For what kind of purposes?

Please give me your thoughts. After travelling for quite a while, I'm a guy who enjoys a beer. Maybe one or two after work a night. Is this just a habit, or would you call it alcoholism?

It's called Mam-ma's Chillin' Chilli Dip
(mam-ma is what my granddaughter calls me)

Perfect with Tortilla Chips, crudite or a filling for rolled slices of griddled aubergine or courgette!
Fed up with the plasticky tasting rubbish in the supermarket I devised a number of my own...here's one of them.
Mix together:
1 tub Garlic & herb cream cheese
1 tub creme fraiche,
1 Tub Riccotta,
2 tbs Mayo
4-6 tbs Sweet Chilli Sauce,
3 cloves of crushed garlic,
crushed sea salt & freshly ground pepper.

If you like a bit more heat add a sprinkle at a time of chilli pepper.
If using the dip as a filling leave out the mayo which slackens the dip.

It makes a huge bowlfull but believe me it will go!

If you would like any other recipies for something a bit different and less of the nasty chemicals, leave me a note here!

I remember that a rumour went around that cocain made you drink more and consequently a lot of pub landlords let coke-heads get on with it. However I think it is nonsense what do you think and have you had any experience that makes you think that this statement is true.

I am thinking of starting a cookie business. I am in search of the best sugar cookie recipe and icing recipe. I need a cookie that will be soft in the center once baked, but yet hard enough on the outside to decorate. And I need an icing that will stand up to shipping. If I do buttercream, is there anything I can add to make it harder when dry, yet still taste good? Or is there another recipe out there that is better? Thanks for your help!
