Cocaine ALLOWS you to drink more alcohol without getting completely drunk, it seems to get you to a certain level of drunkeness and keeps you there - no falling over, vomiting etc...(well there are always exceptions!) I do believ you when you say that landlords turn a blind eye - anyone able to afford coke has probably got enough money to drink all night, and as they wont be getting sleepy, will probably stick around until closing time (or their coke runs out)

Cocaine is a stimulant so yes, if you're out drinking you can fight the affects of alcohol with the cocaine and stay up drinking longer than you normally would. It doesn't make you drink more per se, it just allows you to drink more than normal if you want to.
