It seems my entire adult life I've been involved with or otherwise seeing a man. I'm now seperated pending divorce and a guy I really liked just recently dumped me. I'm afraid to meet anyone new for fear of getting hurt.

I find it difficult to not have anyone special in my life. I love sharing fun times and other deeper things with someone. Don't get me wrong, I function just fine and most of the time I am fairly happy. But I hate not having someone.

Why do you think that is? Do other people feel this way?

I've been messin around with this guy for 5 1/2 yrs and he's married. Sick part is, his wife knows and she don't care. But they won't seem to seperate. They say it's for the kids sake even though they have one child together. Everytime I try to leave him, he always comes back. On top of us being intimate, we are each others best friend. So I found this person on myspace who is from the town I live in. We started emailing back and forth. He says he's seen me b4, but he can't remember where and that he never forgets a pair of eyes, especially pretty ones like mine. He's also told me to continue to email him like daily cause he likes reading them. The thing is, i'm a mother of 1 child going through a divorce. I'm 22 and the guy is 23 and I really like this guy. I'm worried that he might look down on the fact that I have a child. I guess what i'm wondering is if it sounds like this guy likes me? I'm also wondering if guys really look down on single mothers? I've always thought that if a guy tells a girl he likes her it makes her scared/shocked, and she'll say "no" no matter how she feels about the guy. Is it true that if a guy told you he likes you it puts you on the spot, or have I been told wrong?

Also, if there are any girls who had a guy tell them he likes you, and you liked them back, have you made a relationship with them afterwords?

I have been interested in boys and have had a few interested in me, its not because Im shy or afraid to date, I just havent felt ready. I have lots of friends, some of them being males and I am happy, its just that I work full time now and go to school full time, on my days off I barely want to hang out with friends because I want to relax at home. I went through highschool not dating because I didnt believe in highschool romance. At my age, to have never had a boyfriend or been on a date, is that abnormal? Should I just date to please my parents and friends who are worried about me?
