Friends - January 2007

Should I go and visit my boyfriend who lives abroad who I miss like crazy, but it would mean making me completely skint, or should I stay behind at uni for 2 weeks and catch up on all my work even though its likely to make me feel depressed?!

Well- I was hanging out with this girl who I am friends with, but we are not in the same clique. I said something stupid- she was going on about alcohol and all the drinks at some party- so I told her 3 of my close friends drunk. They do drink, AND I actually was going to tell her a story about them and drinking- but left it at "Promise you won't tell anyone? Well, "so, so and so" drink." Thats what I said....is that bad? Should I confront one of my friends and tell her what I said, apologizing?

I told a friend of many years that I liked her, but I wanted to remain friends. She seemed to have lied to me so many times, but she denies all of the lies that she had feelings for me. Last night, we decided to be friends, but she treats me differently than a friend sometimes. She has tried convincing me that I am like all her other close friends, but I do not know what she will try to pull. Why does she want to be friends like this?

i have had this friend since elementary back when we BOTH didn't care about religion or anything like that but recently he has become VERY VERY christian and he only hangs out with his friends from church. this pisses me off because i don't practice ANY religion and i don't give a care what religion he's all about but i think he feels like he can't be friends with a non christian. should i hate him?

Also i even tried going to his church i believe in science and evolution too much to ever believe in a god

I have this friends that all she ever does is complain about her husband and everything else. I have told her that she needs to decide if she wants to be with him since they have been separated for most of their marriage I have told her I don't want to talk about him and she still talks about him all the time. She has a daughter and she is sick all the time but she is like I am not going to put my daughter on a pill for the rest of her life. How can I tell her that I think she is not putting the health of her daughter in first place, without hurting her feelings and loosing a good friend cuz our kids play together.?? When I call to vent about my husband she doesn't want to listen and says I am over reacting. what should I do?

ok, my dad's friend is here. he's outside and my dad is in his office building. the guys name is james and he's black. he came in for a minute to use the restroom and he said hi to me. I said hi back and glanced at him then looked back at the computer. all of a sudden, he came up behind me and kissed me on the cheek like me dad does sometimes. I don't even know this guy! I've only seen him a couple of times so I was really surprized. I didn't say anything and then he left. what wuld you do?

People see me as more of a shy person. I don't have much to say. I feel like I have nothing to talk about with people so I feel a bit awkward. I am happy in my life, I just don't live an exciting life, so I don't have much to share. Any advice on how to open up more, or how to connect more with people?

My b/f is one of the few people who "gets" me. We chat, and he makes me laugh all the time. Not sure how to get a similar relationship with co-workers and new people I meet.

I have a friend whose personality has changed one hundred percent. If I had just met her today, I don't think I would be friends with her. She went through a divorce about 2 years ago and came out of it a different person. She has turned into a drinker, something she never did before, and she picks up guys in bars. How do I handle this. Our friendship is really being affected by this. Can someone please give me some advice that is honest?

my good friend just passed away 3 nights ago. we were very close and we have always been there for eachother....i went to the hospital to see if he was okay...and i was told by one of the doctors that he has actually asked to speak to me. When i entered the room i couldnt help but cry and hold my chest. He was in so much pain. head injury, broken lower spine, and a broken wrist. He called me over and started to cry. i held him and told him everything was going to be alright. He pulled me closer and held my hand and told me that i have to think positive,and take the small box from under his bed at home and bring it to his sister. his sister lives 2 hours away from where he lived. i knew that the assignment he gave me to do was very important and i was so happy to know that he chose me. The next day i found out he had passed away and at that moment i knew it was time to bring the box to his sister. there was only one big problem. i looked under his bed but found nothing. what do i do?!?!
