how old is this teenager****

I don't think it is the length of time - unless you are talking weeks here. It is more the age. I have a 15 year old son and I wouldn't let him look after his younger brothers for more than say half an hour. It depends how responsible the teenageer is and their age.

the law says that anyperson over the age of 7 can be left with a person over the age of 14

so basically if u are leaving children under the age of 7 with somebody under 14 u are breaking the law
but if leaving children under 7 then the person has got 2 be older than 14

tis complated but tis ok once u get ur head round it

I'm not sure But I live in the main land and I'm 16 but my mom never leaves me with my sister alone for more than 3 days. I think its against the law. it's OK if your neighbors a not loud mouthed but if they are they u can't leave your children alone bcoz if you're reported you might lose you little darlings to the social services or you name will be written down in what they call the book (whatever that is)

Even if it is legal - would you really want to leave that kind of responsibilty with a child.

I think it is a ridiculous suggestion - what if something happened? How would the child in charge feel?

I am assuming you are thinking of leaving them overnight??

So long has the teenager is responable & no one finds out if parents go for a night out it should be okay.
