I have this friends that all she ever does is complain about her husband and everything else. I have told her that she needs to decide if she wants to be with him since they have been separated for most of their marriage I have told her I don't want to talk about him and she still talks about him all the time. She has a daughter and she is sick all the time but she is like I am not going to put my daughter on a pill for the rest of her life. How can I tell her that I think she is not putting the health of her daughter in first place, without hurting her feelings and loosing a good friend cuz our kids play together.?? When I call to vent about my husband she doesn't want to listen and says I am over reacting. what should I do?

Hi girl.
Your friend doesn't want your advise. She wants you to be as miserable as she is. You didn't say whether or not u are in a relationship, but if u are, she is not giving u a chance to enjoy it. She needs to talk about her estranged man with a certified therapist, because she seems to have some issues that THEY need to work on. She may need to also talk to this person about alternatives to dealing with her child's illnesses, if they really do exist. I'm not trying to make your friend seem like a villain, or hurt your feelings by suggesting a mental flaw on her part, but relationships can cause us to do strange things, including not seeing the real problems, or what it does to our love ones.

As far as her not putting the health of her child first, there's only one way, the direct way. If she gets mad over that your not losing much. As far as her venting and not being willing to listen to you vent, there are a lot of people that way but I wouldn't consider a person like that a true friend. A real friend can listen as well as she can talk. I think I'd start looking for a new friend.

tell her that she needs to prioritize her life. First and for most is her daughters health. The daughter is the thing she should be concentrating on. She can always get another husband......but she will never be able to replace her daughter. I think you need to use the tough love approach on this lady!!!!!!!!

Tell her that she must make a choice about her husband once & for all & go on with life.
Tell her to get second oppinions & do some research of what is best for her child & that the child should be first in her thoughts.

Tell her that what she is telling you is bothering you now and you feel like you are nto imp[ortant, because that is what it sounds like. You should tell her that her daughters needs should always come first, not worrying about her husband that apparently doesn't give a care. Her and her daughters health should always become the first thing. ALWAYS!!!!

It's up to you Hon but it sounds like a one sided friendship to me. More like cheap therapy maybe. True friends share things, ideas and support one another. Maybe cool it awhile and see what she does.
