Buy a real christmas tree and feel bad for being responsible for having a tree cut down or buy a fake one and feel responsible for supporting the production of plastics which in turn causes more pollution and the use of petroleum? I'd much rather use a paper bag for my grocery shopping.
If you double bag them you can reuse them again at the store.
You can recycle paper bags much easier like using them for school text bookcovers (I did this when I was younger) & there are many more ways you could reuse the paper bags.
My point is this; It seems like more & more people use plastic bags b/c paper bags are no longer being offered.
Why don't they offer paper bags anymore?

One of the gases released from flatulence is carbon dioxide. I enjoy eating bean burritos which among other foods is known for causing wind. I feel terribly guilty every time let one rip, that I might be melting a glacier or causing the death of a polar bear. Without giving up these foods, what measures can be taken to offset these carbon emissions so that I can stay fart-carbon neutral?

This has been on my mind for some time now. China, India, North Korea, and all these other 3rd world countries in Africa and Asia are so filthy, so wasteful, and release SO MANY CARBOn emissions, but you never hear any environmentalists complain about them. Why not??

All you hear about is America. But the fact is, compared to most of the world, America is as pristine as a bar of soap compared to many of these places. We recycle, preserve many natural resources, consistently and constantly find ways to reduce energy spending, have innovations that are "green" or environment friendly, and we ourselves generally do our part to keep things nice.

Hell, China can't even make toys without loading volatile toxins in them. So where are your objections about the other countries that are so wasteful and immensly releasing about 50times the carbon emissions that we do????

Trees are a good way to remove CO2 from the atmosphere but when it is burned or rots the carbon is re-released into the environment.
Eventually there is little net gain.
Manufacturing steel and concrete for construction creates tremendous quantities of CO2.
Wood is far more durable than steel and concrete. It is not likely to fail as a result of repeated flexing. Steel gets brittle and fails. Concrete is very brittle and cracks readily.
Well preserved wood could be used to build tall buildings and bridges with longer life. The CO2 would be locked up and the atmosphere would be helped.
Trees absorb the most CO2 early in their life cycles. Once mature they should be harvested, utilized, and new trees planted.
Wood can be made to not rot, and not be affected by water, oil or salt. It is not structurally weakened by heat until it actually burns.
If fire occurs, once extinguished, a building can quickly be returned to useful service. Good construction material. It even LOOKS good.

In the summer I always hear a bug, maybe it's a type of cricket. It's very loud, it gives off a buzzing sound. It starts off at a certain volume and then gets louder and louder, untill it's very very loud, almost piercingly loud. I only hear it in the summer, and I was curious as to what can get this loud? If your spending the afternoon outside listening to it, it'll probably go off every 10 or so minutes I believe.

In my book there are environmentalists, environmental activists, diehard environmentalists, environmental extremists, lip-service environmentalists, and roll-up-your-sleeves environmentalists, to name a few.

What does the term mean to you?

should be legalized? I mean it's a natural herb, It's not addictive, and it's no where near as bad as alcohol. I smoked some yesterday and I was high but not lethal to anyone like a drunk would be. Who agrees?

It seems to me and others I have talked to that more and more of us are under the impression that this world is never ending. The population is rising, and I can't help but feel that people who have more than one or two children are clueless and selfish. This world can not continue to support a population explosion. The more space we consume, the less area we have to support ecosystems, the places required to grow food, support wildlife. This is directly impacted by population.
My second issue is renewable energy. Auto manufacturer's are just now realizing they need to be responsible. Technology in automobile engines have shown that 50 mpg is not impossible to acheive. It's been around since the 60's. Electric cars have been around since before then as well. Am I the only one disturbed by all of this? The stupidity of those who are driven by money instead of the desire to help.
And those who say Nuclear energy is clean....think again. The bi-product is toxic. Be aware
