Global warming is not a fade issue although Al Gore has made it one. Global warming or Climate Change has more to do with pollution then and destruction of our natural orld. It has little to do with Leo Dicaprio or Sheryl Crow, but it does exist. We are we getting more lung diseases, viruses, weird weather. Why do you think that is?
If you where to eat something bad or drink to much what would your body do? Pollution has been going on for decades, mostly since the industrial revolution. We are/ have made our world sick. What are we going to do about?

I have been living in Kanazawa Japan for 9 months now and although I love the cheap and wonderful fruits and vegetables here, I am wondering as to the safety of eating them. Most of the places where you get fresh produce are right next to factories and places which would seem to emit toxins of some sort. I dont know how they regulate these things here. Can someone help me out?

Sure ,temperatures are rising, but they have been since the last ice-age melted.Long before we started giving off any carbon.Scientists have long known that variations in the earths orbit and axis, cause temperature rise and fall.So who first decided to blame us humans?

ice clouds studied by aim
NASA is studying ice cloud formations over the poles at very high altitudes, due to the fact they seem to be growing in size. They think that they seem to coincide with our growing environmental problems. I read that one idea to reduce planetary heating would be to construct a giant mirror for reflecting some of that heat back into space. Has it dawned on anyone at NASA that maybe this is earth's attempt at doing so? After all a giant ice cloud seems like the right thing to throw over the poles to keep earths coldest regions cold. Could this possibly be earth's defensive mechanism at preservation of life even if it may be only bacterial? Is this how an ice age starts ? Does anyone agree with my hypothesis?

As usual here in England with our typical minimalist and mean attiude towards things - the national debate at the moment that everyone is getting all fired up about is whether or not we should have rubbish collections once or twice a week! Plllllleeeease for crying out loud - where is our imagination and vision not to mention innovation. I always thought necessity was the mother of invention!

For a start - doesn't common sense dictate that from purely health reasons, it should damn well be picked up as quickly as possible - I don't care if it is in strong plastic wheely bins - tell that to the people of Anchorage, Alaska - they've got humping great grizzly bears to contend with - what chance do you think a wheely bin has against a bloody bear. Here in the UK we're not quite so extreme with our wildlife, but foxes all over the country and house martins as well in some parts of our wet little islands don't have a problem with wheely bins either I can assure you!
