if we built several hundred we would ensure our own energy needs, and have a massive surplus to sell to europe and beyond, we would just need to ensure no messy spills or meltdowns. We could choose one place like say essex and built a thousand all close to each other, so the techs can be on hand instead of spread all over the place

How will methods concerning food production, water recycling, alternate energy use, and other resources change? How will our world support the growing population? Will we be more heavily dependent on genetically altered food? Will our waterways be more polluted? How will we get our energy - from solar power? wind power? In 50 years, what will our progress be like? Changed for the positive, or the negative?

Thsi is for a debate. And also if anyone could think of a team line for us (a catchy statement that we repeat a few times to increase the impact of our argument) that would help sooo much!

" Global warming isn’t opinion.
It’s a scientific reality.
The science tells us that human activity has
made enormous impacts to our planet that affect our
well-being and even our survival as a species.
The science also tells us we can begin
to make significant repairs to reverse those impacts
— but only through immediate action. "
I've heard many things..(on how long the earth will last) 2012, 30 more years, i'm not really sure. I just want to know, if we REDUCED burning fossil fuel how long would the earth && people last?

Example, let's say the electricty is produced by hydroelectricty and then comes to my town, my house and then on to many other places. When the electricty that is produced between 10:30 and say, 12:30 goes out from the dam then to my town, and house etc.. where does any that is left over go? Does it come back to the source and start over?

This mineral has formed in a crystalline structure on the outside (not in a problematic way) around the valve for hot water, but not cold. I think this has something to do with galvanization and specifically could involve a reaction with zinc oxide. So what is this and why is it only on the hot water side?
(Note: It comes off very easily, is not a hazard, water is clean by virtue of a city water-treatment plant.)

Seems like I hear all kinds of plans being drawn up for new nuclear power, but the thing is it doesn't even need to be built we can use green clean energy instead. Besides the danger from accidents and natural disasters nuclear is a prime target for terrorists, so why should these things be built? I feel like a ban on them would help kickstart green energy production allowing that industry to grow and it's prices to drop.
