hey people...
I've read this somewhere that the dangerous ozone hole over Antarctica is very prominent for a period and then vanishes after a certain time. It later comes back...i can't figure out why does this happen...can you help me find out a reason???

Its still somewhat a scientific mystery - there is an annual pattern to the ozone layer, but no one knows how for sure long this pattern has occurred, or if it is partly a natural phenomenon. The hole is thought to have developed after 1956 when CFC usage exploded.

CFC's from aresol cans and refrigeration units were destroying the ozone in the 80's. However, companies have stopped putting those chemicals in their products, so the ozone hole is filling in.
