It is THE SUN. Sun is the source, its energy is taken and converted by producers which are eaten by consumers.

Plants are the major producers which produce food and energy by using sun's energy and this is eaten by us and animals who are primary consumers. The whole food system in the ecology depends on the energy from the sun.
