I always wondered if the vocal chords of a singer look any different than a person who has no singing ability what so ever?

The answer is probably no, but I was just being curious.

I'm singing a song with a girl for a performance. During the song, there are various times in which she is supposed to come in and harmonize. However, whenever she's supposed to do this, she gets confused and sings in the same key as me. How do you train someone to split and harmonize, and not get confused? Help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'd post the lyrics, but again they're way too long; I know I sound like I'm speaking gibberish but I'm not, I swear. It's a bit long, but give it a chance, and don't just tell me I suck, explain what you think. Also, I've improved since this recording and plan to re-rerecord the song. Yes, I wrote, composed, recordedd this. Enjoy :]

I would really like to be able to sing, so much that I get really jealous of my favorite bands' singers. I would love to learn. I'm not horrible, but I'm not good. Any help would be appreciated! :)

There is this girl on my bus who currently does singing competitions and we're trying to figure out what type of songs would be good for her to sing at competitions this summer. Here is her myspace:

www.myspace.com/kaitlynnblyth

The first song "These Boots Are Made for Walkin' " and the second song "To the Lifeboats" [she is only singing the beginning part], are her actually singing. The other two are just goofy songs where she is just fooling around and not being serious at all.

What do you think would be some song suggestions for her to sing at competitions this summer? Other songs that have made her place have been These Boots Are Made for Walkin', Harper Valley PTA, Stupid Cupid, and that's all I can remember, but there is a few more.

Any Suggestions???

What is it about an opera singer's voice that makes it different from a Top 40 singer's, even when performing the same pop song? They both sing the same notes, but you can easily tell which is the operatic voice (and the pop song sounds strange). Is there a music term for whatever accounts for this difference in style?

Tomorrow I get to sing the National Anthem at a graduation ceremony. I'm totally excited, but I need some help with singing with the microphone. I'll be up on a podium, with the mike in front of me (yes, I'll be able to move it). I've never sung this way before, so it's kind of new to me. Today during rehearsal, it was difficult to hear me singing, because I didn't know how close or far to place the microphone. Will someone please help me? Thanks, a lot!

My friend and I are singing for the talent show and there are some parts where we tend to get off pitch a little bit. It is a hard song but we haven't gotten to work on it very much. It is hard for us to see which parts we are messing up at because we are so used to our voices. Do you guys have any tricks or ideas that we could use to help improve our singing?
