Also, there's one we do for rhythm where you chant "1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8" in time. Then the teacher holds up a finger to indicate which number to drop and you say the remaining numbers still in time. So it may end up being "1 2 pause 4 5 pause 7 8". Eventually it gets really hard and everyone starts laughing :)

tongue twisters! They force you to pay attention to the ease ( or lack of it) in your jaw and tongue, which is so important for good diction.
My favorite dictum, which is also an exercise is " Diction is done with the tip of the tongue, the tip of the tongue and the teeth." Start out slow, and work your way up to lightning speeds!
