Why do they consider the bands like Styx or Journey "corporate rock"? There are other bands too, but I've never found out why some bands are considered this.

I was thinking about buying a CD.The problem is it costs $24.99.I normally don't pay that much for a CD.The most I even spent was $20.00 bucks.I was wondering is $24.99 too much to pay for a CD.Should I just look around in different stores.

Sure, it’s always more fun to rip on those that are actually still relevant on the pop culture landscape. I get that. After reading this article, I have come to the conclusion that old Court might be the single most despicable low life this side of G.G. Allin. I hereby make her the first nominee for this newly created award that I seriously hope The Grammys will eventually adopt. The funniest part is she talks even worse than those poor text-crazed emo kids that suffer our endless barbs. I understand them better than Courtney.

You can feel free to give a title and artist if you would like, but I would really like to avoid making this too political. I guess I'm just curious to know how often this occurs, more than what the subject matter was.

But I leave the floor open to you, as always...

that were made by fairly well known groups or artists that seem to have flown under the radar? In other words, their previous material was more famous, perhaps even a touch better. This would be an album that you feel (or felt) deserved much more attention than it originally received. Here’s my pick.

Helmet – Size Matters

To this day, I have no clue why radio, including satellite, ignored this album. This band went hand in hand with RATM in terms of popularity on the hardcore scene for most of the 90’s. Based on that alone, it should have been given a few more spins. Granted, Page has toned down the intensity a little and his voice sounds a bit worn at times. But this album has some incredible melodic hard rock and compares very favorably to anything in their catalog.

.... the newest trend seems to be the release of covers albums where artists record songs that influenced them in their journeys. Well, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. If you were a musician and were recording a 12 song disc of nothing but covers to pay homage to your influences, what 12 songs would you chose?

Mine:
Dreams in the Dark (Badlands)
Panama (Van Halen)
Rocket Queen (Guns N' Roses)
Take Me (Kiss)
Too Young to Fall in Love (Motley Crue)
Season of Wither (Aerosmith)
I've Just Seen a Face (The Beatles)
Love Man (Otis Redding)
One Night of Sin (Elvis Presley)
Missing You (John Waite)
When You Close Your Eyes (Night Ranger)
A Country Boy Can Survive (Hank Williams Jr.)

I just noticed that in Bring Me The Horizon's song "Re: They Have No Reflections" towards the end of the song, they actually say
"Do not change the subject,
Let's go chase the sunset,
Bring me the horizon,
Bring me the horizon,
Now"

Anyway, I just thought that was cool and was wondering if any other bands do that...

Happy Tuesday! :)

And I mean physically resemble...as in you look like them. :) And I don't mean spitting image, separated-at-birth look-alikes...someone who is close.

When this question popped into my head this morning it occured to me that I, in all fairness, should try to come up with someone that I resemble...that was tough! I think I decided that I look like a more updated Karen Carpenter in her healthier days. (poor Karen...seriously)

How about you?

3-The Last Temptation
4-Welcome to My Nightmare
5-Brutal Planet
6-Killer
7-Billion Dollar Babies

1st off, I am Totally jealous of those who saw them yesterday in London! I've been hearing nothing but great reviews & of course, watching em on Youtube.

Even though I *thought* read Page say the show wasn't being recorded, it'd seem *crazy* for them to Not tour. They could ca$h in BIG time. So maybe this show was a "rehearsal" for a tour. Yes, ticket prices will be inSANE....but this is Zeppelin.

I will pony up the cash for *them*!

I do remember a few nay-sayers here a few weeks ago about this show. aHEM! ;)

What're your thoughts?

Today on the radio I heard a song that was unmistacably a Pink Floyd song and sounded so familiar yet had diffrent lyrics. I can get taht feeling of listening to it out of my head and I must hear it again It probably sounds something like Wish you were here Time or another Brick. Does anyone have any idea what two Pink Floyd song sound very similar?

like or hate em?
i personally don't care for them much but i just want to see what other people think. i think they sound like any other fueled by ramen bands (ex. panic at the disco, cute is what we aim for, the academy is...this providence) and aren't that original.
