My son's local band is starting to take off and I would like to help them. They have been playing backyard parties and have had a couple of gigs at The Wire is Upland. This month they will be playing at Castle Park in Riverside. My question is: Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can help promote them for future performances?

John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr.

Three of the four have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for their solo careers, Lennon in '94, McCartney in '99, and Harrison in '04.

So based on their solo careers only, who do you think was the best musician and who was the worst?

For me it'd be:

1. John Lennon. His work in the Beatles was excellent, but solo, he's just incredible. His lyrics are so deep and clever, and he can create great melodies.

2. George Harrison. He was underrated as a guitarist, but he had a pretty successful solo career. I love his solo songs.

3. Paul McCartney. He was good in the Beatles, creating simple but melodic tunes, but as a solo artist, he began to decline. I don't care if he's one of the most successful artists even as a solo one, he just lost his touch....

4. Ringo Starr. Not that I don't care about him, but...I've never really heard his solo music before.

Okay, I'm not into today's music. I'm 15 and I really loathe it. I tried listening to it but I don't like it. Anyway, I was listening to music around my sibings and they were making fun of it! They said I'm weird. My friends make fun of the music I listen to, also. I love music from the 80's. I also listen to classic rock and a lot of 60's music. My friends like Panic! At The Disco, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance (all who I despise) and all of the top 40 music. I like The Beatles, The Doors, Motley Crue, the Bangles, Rolling Stones, Missing Persons, the Cure and stuff like that. What do you think?
