Well I don't Know who or what era you are listening to, but for me, the best rock came out of the 60's and 70's. You might try some of these people:
Peter Frampton
Boz Scaggs
Uriah Heep
Black Sabbath
Eric Clapton
Jeff Beck
Robin Trower
The Who
Jimi Hendrix
Janis Joplin
Jefferson Airplane
The Doors
Black Sabbath
Heart
Bad Company
Foghat
Bachman,Turner Overdrive
Doobie Brothers
Steely Dan
AC/DC
Journey
Boston
Aerosmith
Meatloaf
Bryan Adams
Creedence Clearwater revival
Yardbirds
Cream
Blondie
Foreigner
Traffic
Thin Lizzy
Queen
Rod Stewart
Eagles
America
The Cars
Def Leppard
U2
Fleetwood Mac
Pat Benatar
Reo Speedwagon
ZZ Top
J.Geils Band
Rolling Stones
Some ideas and I threw in some 80's bands too.

Chris Daughtry is great. A lot of his good songs are not even played widely yet:
Used To
Over You
Feels Like Tonight
"The Island" by The Starting Line is a good song.
"Our Time Now" by Plain White T's is good, more upbeat than hey there delilah

My chemical romance? Panic at the disco? The white stripes? Korn? Slipknot? Avenged sevenfold? Madina lake? Soasin? The almost? Paramore? Tiger army? Flyleaf? Those are all completely different bands, I think.

I started listening to a Band called 2 Cents recently. They are not very well known, but maybe give them a shot. I saw them at Sounds of the Underground and they are very talented. I suggest the song "The Wedding Dress."

If you like somewhat dark rock, but good, then check out a band by the name of "Brand New", they have 4 albums but the latest, "The Devil and God are Raging Inside me" is the best. They are on 95.5 WBRU Providence all the time.
