Okay, I'm not into today's music. I'm 15 and I really loathe it. I tried listening to it but I don't like it. Anyway, I was listening to music around my sibings and they were making fun of it! They said I'm weird. My friends make fun of the music I listen to, also. I love music from the 80's. I also listen to classic rock and a lot of 60's music. My friends like Panic! At The Disco, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance (all who I despise) and all of the top 40 music. I like The Beatles, The Doors, Motley Crue, the Bangles, Rolling Stones, Missing Persons, the Cure and stuff like that. What do you think?

Awesome you rock. That's very cool you're finding your own taste and are not buying what "THE MAN" is trying to sell you or your friends. I'm sure your friend's taste will change through time, we all do. The cool part is that I lived and grew up through the 80s. If you haven't yet check out these atrists from the 80s:

Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, AC/DC, The Scorpions, Quiet Riot, Twisted Sister, Heart, Pat Benatar, Blondie, Rush, TOTO, The Stray Cats, The Cars, Men At Work, Thompson Twins, Duran Duran, ABC, Howard Jones, Culture Club, New Order, Erasure, Yaz, Pet Shop Boys, Phil Collins, Genesis, The Alan Parsons Project, Peter Gabriel, Huey Lewis & The News, Night Ranger. And my favorite 80s song 'lately' has been "Life in a Northern Town" by The Dream Academy.

PS. You're not weird, you know good music and have good taste.

I think you have excellent taste in music. Unfortunately, we seem to be entering a phase like in the '50s where the best music, movies, and art is supressed.

Right now, music (often bad music) is successfully "marketed." I think the best musicians rose to the surface and were given air time based on quality in decades past.

You can still find great music, but the opportunities for the best to be popular is limited sometimes because of a weird sort of economic censorship that may also have some political elements.

I think you are the smartest 15 year-old I've ever seen. Keep it up and don't listen to your siblings.

If you like 60's, try Cream, Jefferson Airplane, The Who and The Guess Who.

70's, try the Doobie Brothers, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Fleedwood Mac, Journey

80's, try Bad Religion, Iron Maiden, Beastie Boys

90's, try Sublime, Face to Face, Alice in Chains, Foo Fighters, Rage Against the Machine

Current, try Slightly Stoopid, Black Label Society, Damian Marley, Stone Sour

Always listen to what you like, keep an open mind, and tell everyone else to F%@$ off!

I'm on the fence.

I love a lot of different genres of music, and about 60% of my iTunes are bands that have been around pre-1990. But I do also love todays music (not Fall out Boy or My Chemical Romance or anything remotely related to that), but I guess more "underground" indie (although I wouldn't call it underground, its just most people in America have never heard of it).

Most of the music thats really out there today sucks, but the music that you have to dig a little to find is worth it.

I'm not a big fan of those type of bands either and I'm in my early twenties. It's almost like it's not real music. I love classic rock too. Some of today's rock bands are pretty good like Breaking Benjamin or Three Days Grace. You're not weird, you just like better music!

I think you have very good taste and you shouldn't worry about what your friends think. Let's wait and see if Panic! at the Disco is still selling CDs 40 years from now like the Beatles are. I doubt it.

I listen to quite a bit of 80s music myself. Everybody has different tastes in music. I know somebody our age that doesn't really listen to music at all, so it just depends on your interests.

Personally, little girl, I think your style of music is RIGHT ON! I grew up in the 70's, and I would say since to mid eighties, music has pretty much gone down hill. Don't let anyone hassle you. Your music is the right stuff.
