Orchestra dress rehearsal the day before the concert... Does that mean we need to wear the clothes that we've been told to wear at the concert at the dress rehearsal, too??

Currently I'm in the process of mastering Op.10 No.1 and Op.10 No.4. These are nicknamed The Waterfall and Torrent, respectively.

I just wanted to know where these names came from, and perhaps, start a discussion on this.

Rossini is one of my favorite composers. I would love to have his Tancredi, Il Signor Bruschino, and Cinderella overtures. I was wondering if anyone had them and is willing to share? lol and my most important question is in addition--what composers are similar to Rossini? i would love to listen to more music in that style....if u have any composer names or songs i would love to have them!! thank you!

Can anyone direct me to an English translation of the Ave Maria as set by Gounod, where the words fit the notes?

I've come across literal translations online, which explain what the Latin words mean, but they are not singable with the given notes.

Hope that makes sense!
Oh, I'm looking for something *besides* the Bono/Pavarotti performance.

Thanks!
Linda
