It plays for the first forty-five seconds of this video; I've heard it several times in different places but never found a name for it- can anyone help? Any info greatly appreciated!

That isn't a piece of classical music that I've ever heard. More likely than not, it's an original sound score just for the movie.

It's reminiscent of Carl Oraf's(sp-?) "Carmina Buriana"(you'll have to check for correct spelling).
Wotan

It's a pastiche which is supposed to resemble the 'O Fortuna' section from Carl Orff's 'Carmina Burana'. There is a German project called E Nomine, which produces this interesting type of blend of techo/beat/choral music.

There is a track called 'Schwarze Sonne' from the album 'Beste aus Gottes Beitrag und Teufels Werk' from 2003/04 and I think this might be what you're looking for.

Wotan is wright. It's written in the style that Carl Orff composed "Carmina Burana", but is not a classical piece. It's a movie music.

I don't know who composed it, but it sounds more like music from a film's orchestral score (or possibly even from one of the Final Fantasy games; it immediately made me think of stuff by Nobuo Uematsu), as opposed to a piece of music from a "classical" composer.
