We were wondering if there were any songs that dirrectly delt with this issue. Someone remembers one where a man wrote the song for his dead child talking about how excited they were and sorry that they lost her/him. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

Isn't there an old song that is the tune of the song? Some old arm song or something. The same tune whistled in the Guns N' Roses song Civil War

Six degrees of seperation style?

I'm working on mine.... Porcupine Tree makes a "The Bends" reference in Pure Narcotic so I have Porcupine Tree and Radiohead link... now I have to think about Pink Floyd.

Can you link your three favorite bands?

I'm trying to find a wav file of the tune that goes dum dum dummmmmm! (well, to be a little more specific it comes on when something dramatic happens, i.e. a masked murderer is revealed).

Here is a link to what it kind of sounds like:

although that version isn't very good. I hope someone can find the tune I am talking about :-)

I have never heard this before....out of all my searching I haven't found this song....I found it by Johnny REBEL not Horton... but these people still believe it's by Johnny Horton...please help? I just don't believe he would record something like that.....I think it was just miss attributed to Johnny Horton....thanks!

Through some of the questions I have asked and answered recently, I've seen that some people are and some really don't care.

Me? I fall into the latter category. It seems like I got much more grief back in the day for listening to Duran Duran than I do now. :) But I honestly have no problem talking about growing up on Pop, some New Wave, Rap and 80's Metal - I'm not embarrassed about it in the least.

How about you? Are you comfortable talking about your musical past, or do you blush a bit and leave parts out?

Or any interesting stories about injuries at shows?

As for me…
I have been kicked in the face at least 15 times over the past two years. My worst experience though was at a New Found Glory show last October. I was at the barricade so pretty much all crowd surfers touched by me. About two songs into the set, some lanky little girl came my way and was thrashing violently on top of everyone. I had my hands up in the air to protect her and me, but all of the sudden she kicked me right below my left eye. My head snapped back and hit the kid in back of me. I had such a headache for the rest of the show, but I wouldn’t leave my amazing spot. Later on, I looked at myself in the mirror and my cheek was red and swollen. After a day or so, it turned into a huge bruise and my teachers were asking me if I was being abused. I’m just really happy that I’m not blind.

Wow, what a lame heading, ha.
I was going to make this pretty and elaborate, but lets keep it simple;

Name some Rock songs that mention fictional places [cities/towns etc] in the song title, album title or lyrics..

The ever predictable Cinnamon contributes "Paradise City" by Guns N' Roses.
-gasps- "GNR? Really? Wow, I didn't know you were a fan!"

Here’s a chance to let your imagination run wild. Let’s pretend you have a very specific magic power. That would be to eliminate any band or solo artist of your choice from ever existing. Since this band never existed, it’s now incumbent upon you to find a new gig for the group’s lead vocalist (or other member of note). So, to put this in the form of a question, which band would you pick and what would the new career be? Guess I’ll go first.
