I remember the first time I saw the Jackson 5 on Andy Williams, I couldn't enjoy it because it was these five guys dancing, and two of them were kids, and it just blew a fuse in my head. Next, I saw a picture of Isaac Hayes, and I thought, thats not right. He's bald, and he's wearing sunglasses. Then I saw Sly at Woodstock, and I thought, these guys are about ten years ahead of anybody else in this show.
I finally came to the conclision that black musicians lead the way, as far as popular music is concerned, They always have and they probably alwways will.
BTW, Jimi was my bridge into black music, Thank God.

I really want to make my own CD for my car or whatever because all the compiled ones in store have some gay songs on them. So i was thinking about buying an i tunes voucher and then downloading some songs. I just dont want to steal music so dont suggest Kazaa or limewire or any of that. I am looking for an old country song..that is really spoken, not sung. I believe it was from the mid sixties, and preformed by a talk-show host. Something about Daddy's Little Girl, and it talks about a Dad walking his little girl down the isle, and it seems like yesterday she was born....??

Lyrics are my weak point. I here songs that are very simplistic and I can't see how they are so great, take "I Got A Woman." It' all in the music and delivery. That's easy to write but it looks like crap on paper. Could I be writing good lyrics but because they not simplistic like so many other songs I believe that they are crap? Why can't I write lyrics? Melodies are easy, chords are easy, it's the lyrics.
