For any real musician a must have instrumental in their collection is YYZ off of Moving Pictures by Rush. Complex and bad *** timing. Those guys rock and know their stuff.

the best pop/rock song ever written is "like a rolling stone" by Bob Dylan.
Has the best blend of lyrics and melody ever to be commited to tape. If you don't like Dylan, listen to one of hundreds of cover versions avaliable (always a good indicator of a quality song).

Ya-Yo Gakk! by Steve Vai on the Alien Love Secrets Album. He even has his son's voice as apart of the music. Amazing, you have to check it out.
