Going on a road trip with my toddler stepsons and want to introduce them to some good music since they are always singing the stuff from the radio and thats crap. I already got jackson 5, kool and the gang, and major motown. I'm looking for upbeat "walking on sunshine" type of stuff.

I'm a huge Beatles fan and made my 4 year old niece a Beatles mix cd that she loves. When my son was little, he really liked Drive My Car and Good Day Sunshine.

jimmy cliff, 'I Can See Clearly'. go with 1970's music. It has the upbeat tempo and you can talk about its impact on today's artists.

You might want to look up some of the influences that your kids' fave performers cite, and just burn a few cds of those artists so your kids can listen to the "core" of their faves.

I like to download the original songs that have been remixed/remade recently. It allows for a deep appreciation of the old school.
