which band do you like better and why?

In the 50's, there were a couple novelty songs that sort of told a story, but were interspersed with clips from other popular songs of that time. One started out with the narrative "At this very moment, somewhere in outer space, the first earth ship is landing on Mars". (OK for you younger people - I SAID this was in the 1950's.)

Does anyone remember this? Do you remember the name of the song, or who performed it? I think there were one or two others also of this same type - I think one of them, maybe this one or maybe not, had clips from The Purple People Eater.

It was called "Sunshine Girl". I think it was a minor hit in the mid to late 60's. The only line in the song I remember was "sunshine girl won't you stay with me..." I have been racking my brain (tiny as it is) for years trying to remember who sang this song!! Can you help?

I really don't know what is said but in the song a girl with a really sweet soft voice sings about coffee or something. and i think she says something like

"and when it stops,
it stops,
my heart still..."

ok, im pretty sure im wrong about those lyrics but that's what i thought it sounded like. hope someone can help. =)

ive heard it a few times on the radio, and once on the internet radio.....but i forgot what the name was, the one time i saw it

i dont think it's on any of the CDs....i looked once i think....but i have no idea what the name is
