the raconteurs vs the white stripes?

which band do you like better and why?

I like both bands to be honest, mostly because I'm a big fan of Jack White, but I'm going to have to say The White Stripes are better than the Raconteurs. The Raconteurs are a great band but it the general alternative rock with a little bit of pop on it and that was White intentions on this band. The White Stripes are more soulful with there blues inspiration and lyrics that means something, while at the same time can put album after album that can achieve greatness. The Raconteurs only had one album and the direction kinda leans more toward Brendon Benson than White, but they are a great band if they want to stick around. However, I still say the White Stripes because of their uniqueness towards their music, which can still rock for times.

Although I agree the need a bassist, I'm going to go White Stripes.

Although "Steady as she goes" beats all WS songs HANDS DOWN, everything else lacks.... I don't know, but it isn't very good, lol.
Every other Ractontous song reminds me of the odd side of WS, the experimental sounding side. I never really liked that.

But WS can turn a simple 4 beat guita riff into somethign amazing ("Seven Nation Army")

i love the white stripes singles, but their other stuff sucks, i think

and i only know steady as she goes by the raconteurs

i really love the good white stripes songs, i like them better than steady as she goes i think....but thats also a great song, and i think their other stuff might be just as good
