Where does the white go when the snow melts?

Go read a book or something. It is just frozen water. It has no real color, so it appears white when it is frozen and then clear when it melts.

I'm pretty sure the 'white' that you see is the snowflakes reflecting light. so when they melt, the light has nothing to reflect off of, so the white magically disappears.
