I've bought some of their stuff.Early songs are good,but most of the later ones are very 'same old,same old'.I always thought that Simple Minds were vastly superior,but not as popular,for some bizarre reason.And Bono is a tosser,spouting on about the poor and hungry whilst he lives in a mansion with millions of dollars in the bank.Hypocrite.

I'm not a big fan. I wouldn't say they're the most overrated band in the *world*, but they are overrated, yes.

no i dont. i like U2 and i think that they put out quality music. someone mentioned that bono has millions of dollars and still lives in a mansion while talking about beating poverty. So what? He still gives away a ton of time and money to people. what do you do with your pathetic little life?

Yes i do and the worst of it is I live in Ireland and Its just nonstop U2 on the radio. That and the Corrs they drive me insane

I think they're kind of overrated, but not in the world.
Metallica, Rush, and Green Day are VERY overrated. Neil Peart is overrated too. John Bonham can blow him away any day...

no i can think of several bands that are more overrated:
radiohead, green day, panic! at the disco, falloutboy, rush, and phish are just a few. U2 is a pretty good band, try seeing them live, it will change your perspective on them.

I do like quite a few of the their songs and "Under a blood red sky" is a brilliant album but honestly, yeh I do think they are over-rated

No, they were amazing during the 80's , produced some all time classics ... not heard much of them lately .. still, they are in the 'all time greats catagorie '.
