Whatever happened to Melanie Safka--the 1970's era folk singer?

I saw her recently on tv. She looks like a female version of Arlo Guthrie with her long whitish gray hair. She kind of looks her age. I like a few of her old songs like Look What They've Done To My Song Ma, Beautiful People, Psychotherapy, etc. I didn't really like Brand New Key.though. It sounded childish but it was probably meant to.
